Consecutively to the rationing of food products imposed by the war, the launch of a grape juice rich in sugar met a market need and the company Grapillon SA was founded in December 1944 in Rolle in order to develop and bottle this grape juice. If these particular conditions supported its launching, it became later obvious that this drink did not only owe to its virtues the favours of the market. Since 1949, Grapillon even started to be exported towards various countries.
